Maintenance News....
Pictures from the Saturday Work Day - And work we did!

From Barth Brooker
I'm relatively new to this business of trail maintenance, but it
seems to me that many of the projects we are doing and have done
in the past couple of months are in locations that would be available
to us in the winter months. If these are all that remain on the list or
we want to save on gas expenses, fine. However, it will be putting us in the position of calling off maintenance for all the crews for the winter which is also OK as long as we all agree on that being the direction
we want to go.
What do you all think? Barth

Removed two trees between Graybeard and Douglas Falls Trail Junction. These were not on item list
but we did have recent information indicating a
potential problem. Also did some lopping.
Three more overhead trees were identified as needing
removal and are on the list of trees down. These were unexpected and we did not remove them on this
trip due to snow on the ground and lack of bar oil.
We plan on a scouting trip to identify the shortcut trail that will get us back to the downed trees and the
junction for the Douglas Falls faster.
Great day for a hike
